No cookies today

Word Finder Wordle does not set any cookies, first-party or third-party. There are no analytics, advertising or social media scripts on the site, which is why you do not see a cookie banner.

Local storage we use

To remember your settings between visits, the site saves a few values in your browser’s local storage. Unlike cookies, these values are never sent to our servers with your requests. They stay on your device.

Local storage keys used by Word Finder Wordle
Key Purpose What it stores
wfw-theme Remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme. "light" or "dark"
wfw-colorblind Remembers whether the color-blind tile palette is on. "1" or "0"
wfw-board, wfw-board-3 … wfw-board-10 Keeps your finder board and pattern for each word length so they are still there when you return. The words, tile colors and pattern letters you entered

If advertising is enabled in the future

If and when we enable ads, we expect to use Google AdSense. Google and other third-party vendors would then use cookies to show ads, including ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. Before that happens we will:

  • update this policy and our privacy policy;
  • ask visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland for consent through a certified consent management platform before setting advertising cookies;
  • give you a way to change your choice at any time.

How to control cookies and storage

  • Clear site data: your browser settings let you delete cookies and local storage for any site, including this one. Clearing it resets your theme, color palette and board.
  • Block cookies: most browsers can block all or third-party cookies. The finder keeps working, but your settings may not be remembered.
  • Personalized ads: you can manage Google ad personalization in Google Ads Settings and opt out of many third-party vendors at aboutads.info or, in Europe, Your Online Choices.

Changes

When this policy changes, the “Last updated” date at the top of the page changes too.
